With lyric-driven songs steeped in folk, alt-country and blues, singer-songwriter Matt Spitko pairs soulful, dynamic vocals with beautifully written songs and arrangements.

Raised on a classic rock and folk record collection, Spitko’s early influences soon had him reaching for the piano, then a guitar and harmonica. Influenced by the American song book, from Harry Smith’s Anthology of American folk music to contemporary singer-songwriters, Spitko developed an accessible songwriting style, melding a range of Americana textures to create his own style.

October 2015 marked the independent release of his debut LP with producer Barrie Maguire (Amos Lee, The Wallflowers, Natalie Merchant), titled ‘At Love with War’

Rock on Philly had this review:
"His voice plays like an instrument, just as soothing as the guitar... The album is a story of heartbreak, self-realization, nostalgia, and humble optimism told through the sounds of contemporary Americana... Unlike many independent albums, it is finely-tuned and neatly packaged. The album’s eleven tracks flow together so well, it plays like a single song."

Spitko's second full-length album, "Things We Tell Strangers" was released in 2018 with tracks like 'Apollonia' and 'Shapeshifter' pointing toward new musical and lyrical themes.

Back in the studio as of Spring 2019, Matt and the band (Matt Muir, Brendan McGeehan, Jason Jonik) are planning multiple singles for release this Fall.
